A special dialogue-event hosted at the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield Museums, following the performance of 'Storm-Cloud: Observations of the Sky’ at the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse on the evening of 19 June. Featuring a vibrant mix of invited artists, community organisers, and researchers, engaged in collaborative discussions that will shape the direction of Storm-Cloud: a significant interdisciplinary programme of research, performance, and exhibition. ​

Please join us for registration where we will be serving tea, coffee and pastries. The restaurant is located at the top of the main stairs in front of you as you enter the Owen building. Alternatively, you may take the lift to floor 6. The lifts are centrally located beyond the stairs. There is a help point to the left of the entrance should you need assistance. Exhibition Tour

The Ruskin Collection, The Millennium Gallery.
Join us at the Millennium Gallery for a tour of the Ruskin exhibition with Curator, Ashley Gallant. The Ruskin exhibition is located at the far end of the Millennium Gallery building, adjacent to the Winter Gardens. There is an information desk located at the entrance to the building on Arundel Gate.

Dr Rachel Dickinson is Reader in Interdisciplinary Studies & English at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she is Co-Director of the Long Nineteenth Century Network. Her research, publication and engagement activity flow from a specialism in Victorian polymath John Ruskin, which began with doctoral work on archival correspondence (Lancaster 2005). A textiles practitioner, she has been a member of the Lancs & Lakes Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers for more than a decade. In 2019 she was elected the first female Master of Ruskin’s Guild of St George, an educational charity for arts, crafts and the rural economy.
Wendy is a Space Technology Lead co-leading the GreenSpace Project. She moved from an academic background in Geology. Before joining Space Hub Yorkshire, she led research into the occurrence of large earthquakes and the potential seismic hazards in Central Asia using remote sensing products. She has expertise in Earth Observation (both optical and radar satellite data), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and their application in monitoring surface deformation. She was also involved in projects aiming to repurpose oil and gas data for identifying potential deep freshwater resources. Wendy holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Geosciences from the National Taiwan University.
Dr Christina Smith is a Space Technology Lead co-leading the GreenSpace Project. Before joining Yorkshire Space Hub, Christina was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Oberlin College in the USA, leading research into the make-up of stars and the atmospheres of planets as well as teaching courses in physics and astronomy. Christina also spent five years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in planetary sciences at York University in Toronto where she was a member of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory (“Curiosity”) Rover Science Operations Team, involved in planning and scheduling activities for the rover. Christina holds a PhD in Astrophysics and an MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Manchester and the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics.
